"Thanks to festivals like Under the Radar and Coil, January is a busy month for devotees of international theater in New York. But things promise to be even more active than usual next month, when a new event called the Times Square International Theater Festival makes its debuts".

 

"Each performance had an undeniable range of talent, transporting the audience to new ways of thinking about emotions, politics and ideologies. The (Times Square International Theatre) festival revealed the power of minimalist and experimental theatre to absorb us into another's world, only to find that it is not too different from our own".

 

 

 

The Time Square International Theater Festival is a new festival dedicated to work that challenges the status quo, work that exhibits artistic excellence and invention and innovation in all of it's aspects, and work that offers new ways of seeing and being, as both artists and as global citizens.

We produce projects that integrate genres and art forms, break with traditional forms of representation, and develop democratic and cross-cultural conversation. W

e believe that through the practice of collaboration, a group of artists working together can have a significant impact upon both contemporary theater and the world at large. Join us as we re-imagine the theater district.

Our Mission:
The Times Square International Theater Festival will kick off the New Year with stimulating national and international theater performances in the most exciting city; New York City! The Times Square International Theater Festival hopes that the festival will allow a more reciprocal collaboration of art by joining forces and learning from each other.

TSITF will provide an affordable venue for an assortment of plays and performance pieces that will not otherwise be seen in the doorstep of Broadway. TSITF will give companies of reduced budget but great artistic merit the opportunity to show their art in the heart of the theater capital of the world.
